Converting e-Sword 8.x User Made Modules To 9.x

This is the area for questions or discussion regarding the converting of e-Sword 8.x user made modules into e-Sword 9.x user made modules.

converting personal NOT files from older e-sword 7.1 to 9x

I just upgraded e-sword 7.1.0 to version 9.8.3 on my laptop. It automatically converted my personal .NOT file to the .NOTX format which worked fine, but when I tried to convert another NOT file using the conversion utility v.1.0.4, it said it converted it to the .NOTX format, but shows up blank when I load e-sword. I have the file in the correct directory under My Documents\e-sword.

I am reluctant to upgrade my main computer to 9x because my personal note file is too important to lose. It is 11 megabytes long. Any suggestions?

T Austin Sparks .top files password protected?

Hi, I love T Austin Sparks website, the online library, and I know not any of his writings are copyrighted. But I downloaded some .top files of his e books, and they are password protected? I had them in E sword 8, was not aware they were password protected until I tried to convert them. The top files in question are on Spiritual Ascendancy, Spiritual Maturity, Spiritual Sight, etc. Anybody know why they are password protected? I do not want to violate copyright, and try to be careful downloading from E Snips for that reason.

Converting Old (.lst) files to the New 9 version

Does anyone know how to convert my topic notes to the new topx format?
Have created a lot of study topic notes over the last many years and do not wish to lose them.
Thank You

Search The Scriptures 1998 returns no results

I have converted the Institute for Scripture Research's bible module, The Scriptures 1998+, with Rick's conversion tool to e-Sword ver. 9, but it does not produce any output when doing searches on any word, either from double clicking the word and using right mouse button or by typing the word in.

I am using Windows XP Professional, the latest version of the conversion tool and e-Sword 9.5.1.

What could be the problem please?

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Conversion between highlight to markup.ovlx

Does e-Sword Converter translater 7.5.2 to 9.5.1?

I have many files from my 7.5.2 e-Sword, some Bibles I downloaded with BIT that are we are now having to pay for, which I can't afford, like NASB, Holman's, and Amplified, and tons of topics, dictionaries, commentaries and STEPS. I really like the new format of 9.5.1, and want to translate them. Will the e-Sword Converter make this transition? Please put this on the forum and email me at davidharvey13th@yahoo.com if you know this answer. Thx.

not to notx conversion - successfull but show up blank

Hi,
I am running 9.5.1 and I tried converting a few of my personal NOT files with e-Sword 9 Converter. It says it is successful, the files show up and are at the right file size but when I open Eword I can select the file but it is blank. Doesn't show anything! Can you please give me suggestions?

Thank you very much!

God bless EVERYONE that is working on this project! It is truly THE BEST Bible Program!!

Upgrade from 8.0.6 to 9.5.1

I know there have been many questions and responses on this subject; however, I have not kept close tabs on them and I want
to have my upgrade run as smoothly as possible. So please understand if I repeat what others have.

System: Vista Home Premium 64

What is the best (no pun intended - BeST) to upgrade from 8.0.6 to 9.5.1? I have a very large study.not file and many *.top files
that I wrote myself. *I wrote the top files for when study.not was unavailable for missing Bible books. I want to make sure these
are usable in the new version.

As a different, though related issue, because of crashes over the years (my PC's and esword) I have additional study.not files
stored on my server. With the 9.5.1 version of esword is there a way to merge these together as one study.not file? Is there a
way to see that I am not duplicating entries? Under 8 and below I drew out a process that used BeST, Excel and Access to find and manually move unique entries from 18 different study.not files to a Master not file. However, when I came to entries of different sizes for the same Bible verse, these I have put aside as this is a very involved manual process.

Thanks and God Bless,
