Orthodox Jewish Bible and Orthodox Jewish New Testament (Messianic Resources) - cannot open/compatibility?
Thu, 03/11/2010 - 17:18
I contacted http://www.afii.org on their website and were referred to the following website for a e-sword module of the Orthodox Jewish Bible and Orthodox Jewish New Testament (Messianic Resources):
http://www.esnips.com/profile/799b1c91-0cd3-4b1e-a83e-bfe8e942df12
I downloaded it and opened it but e-sword 9 cannot open it and it also cannot be converted. There is also a commentary and notes and dictionary included with the New Testament that can be downloaded. They can however also not be converted. Can you perhapse help. Is it from a previous e-sword version? According to the website provided there is permission from www.afii.org to have it in e-sword format. I therefore cannot think that there should be a password problem in this regard? I will appreciate your help and feedback. How can I convert or open it?

Re: Orthodox Jewish Bible and Orthodox Jewish New Testament ...
johanvg,
Thanks for sharing where to get these resources.
Even if the e-Sword Modules will not work with the lastest version of e-Sword
the e-books and PDFs work fine.
I left a message at the site where the e-Sword Modules are available explaining this delema and sharing with them where they can download the 8-9X Converter.
So maybe they will up date their e-Sword Modules to the 9X version soon.

Re: Orthodox Jewish Bible and Orthodox Jewish New Testament ...
I found and downloaded and installed the OJB for esword here: http://www.box.net/public/q6qfpb0v43
The www.afii.org web site is a bit of a mess. But on an obscure line known only to Google I found a link where you can download the esword 9 modules. There is the bible, a dictionary and a topx file with bits and pieces. Installation from a rar file was straightforward.

Re: Orthodox Jewish Bible and Orthodox Jewish New Testament ...
Davwein,
I downloaded the OJB.rar file but it does not show up in my e-Sword program
and I can not get the 9 Converter to even find it as a source to convert.
How are you able to read these in the e-Sword 9X program, as Bible, as Dictionary, Comentary, Topic, or Step Reader,etc...
HELP,

Re: Orthodox Jewish Bible and Orthodox Jewish New Testament ...
a *.rar file is like a *.zip file. You need to unpack the file you downloaded. Within it is the ojb.bblx file that e-sword will recognize.
Google this phrase: “download rar extractor” and you can find one to install on your system. Then you can unpack the file you downloaded.

Re: Orthodox Jewish Bible and Orthodox Jewish New Testament ...
Davwein and Will,
I would like to thank you with regard the help you provided in finding the e-sword version of the Orthodox Jewish Bible. I really do appreciate it. A freeware version of a program that can open "rar" compressed files is 7-zip and the web site where you can find it is:
Shalom!

That is for e-Sword 8.x, or earlier.
Said permission prohibits format shifting.
Thus far, AFAIK, nobody has contacted AFI International Publishers to obtain permission to distribute the file in e-Sword 9.x format.
