I have many files from my 7.5.2 e-Sword, some Bibles I downloaded with BIT that are we are now having to pay for, which I can't afford, like NASB, Holman's, and Amplified, and tons of topics, dictionaries, commentaries and STEPS. I really like the new format of 9.5.1, and want to translate them. Will the e-Sword Converter make this transition? Please put this on the forum and email me at davidharvey13th@yahoo.com if you know this answer. Thx.

Hey, David,

First, may I recommend you read my blog What I've Learned About Upgrading to 9x - Installation and Conversion Helps, Hints & Tricks.

Second, while the converters will convert from 7.5.2 to 9.5.1, none of the converters will convert locked files. It is against the EULA ("End User License Agreement") to convert copyright resources. If you have purchased premium resources from eStudySource or from Rick at e-Sword's homepage, upgrading is FREE and easy. Just log on to your account, and all of the information - including your passwords - are already there.

Third, none of the STEP resources need to be converted. They'll still work exactly as they have.

Dave

Sort of. The database structure will be converted, but the content will not be converted.

Your simplest option might be to use BeST to export the 7.5.2 content to B-XML, and then re-import that data using BeST, to e-Sword 9.x.  This way  both the content, and the database structure will be correctly converted.
