The English Jubilee Bible is a bible translation made from Spanish into English by Russell Martin Stendal and compared with the Old English Translation of William Tyndale (Pentateuch of 1530, Ploughboy Edition New Testament of 1534, Joshua to 2 Chronicles of 1537, and Jonah), and compared word for word with the Authorized Version (by King James) of 1611.
The spanish sources were the Casiodoro de Reina (1569) and compared with the revision of Cipriano de Valera (1602). This sources were original based on the New Testament of Francisco de Enzinas (1543) and on the New Testament (1556) with the Psalms (1557) of Juan Perez de Pineda.
Russell Martin Stendal, 47, a Protestant missionary from Minneapolis, had been working in Colombia as a rancher and operating a two-Cessna flying service for about eight years when he was taken captive by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in August 1983. After his release in 1991, instead of fleeing Colombia, Mr. Stendal, his Colombian wife, Marina, and their four children continue to live in the country.
Now the Stendal family owns several radio stations in Colombia, where they produce quality programs with solid values, and that deal with attitude and a change of heart, trying to bring people into a personal relationship with God.
