Hello,
ups, look whether you have System.Data.SQLite.dll in the same directory as the utility....
if not do download the utility again.
http://zefania.blogspot.com/2009/05/e-sword-bulk-bible-conversion-utilit...
Sorry , there was a utilitiy zip online without System.Data.SQLite.dll but only for about 30 min :)

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
It is there but I am still getting the same error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 but I get the same results. I have also verified that the permissions on the file are correct. It seems that my system thinks the System.Data.SQLLite.dll is in some unacceptable format. I generally like Vista 64bit but occassionally I have strange problems like this that are hard to track down.

Hello,
we try a new solution :)
Download:
http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=132486&filename=...
unzip the folder see in folder "x64" there is a 64bit System.Data.SQLLite.dll, replace the old in the utility folder with the new 64bit System.Data.SQLLite.dll and start the utility again, what happens?

It is no longer giving me an error. The files it creates are called *.bbl_converted. I renamed one to bbe.bblx and put it in the e-sword folder. E-swords says that it can't load the bbe.bblx file. I closed e-sword and move the bblx file to another directory but esword is still trying (and failing) to load it. Esword is doing this with two files now that no longer exist in the esword directory.
Peace,
Gary

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
Hello,
i see the problem: Let me try to explain:
1. *.bbl_converted must not renamed to *.bblx, *.bbl_converted ist the old e-sword 8 version.
Example: you have bible.bbl to convert
after conversion you have two files:
bible.bbl_converted
**and**
bible.bblx
in the same directory, so you have only to move the bible.bblx to the e-sword programm directory. :-)
Quote:
"Esword is doing this with two files now that no longer exist in the esword directory."
......
this sounds like Vista virtualstore..
if you have vista you should delete all bblx files in the virtualstore also :)
For security, Vista forbids programs from writing to a variety of "sensitive" areas, including the Windows folder and the Program Files folder. Specifically, you'll open this folder
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore.
You'll then locate the folder containing the files for e-sword. You can then delete all the bblx files in it and be done with it.

Thank you, the firtural store was the problem. In case of the first problem no second file is being created. I'm not sure if this is an utility issue or a permissions issue.
Thank you again,
Gary
Edit: It is either not creating the .bblx file or is putting somewhere other than the conversion directory.

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
Be sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework v3.5 installed on your computer, or else, the bulk conversion tool will not run.
One observation about the bulk conversion tool, it is slooooow. But - it appears to be converting the GSNT which e-sword.net's conversion tool would not convert, so it is infinitely faster then that one for this particular file. But ask me in a hour when the conversion is done - yes, it is sloooow. But hey - I think it is working - good to have the utility!!! :-)

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
JOY! The conversion of GSNT worked!! Now to get NET commentary converted and I'm almost completely converted over to v9. The GSNT conversion took about 20 minutes to convert on my system. The markups seem to be in place. The utility worked!
Why Goodspeed? He was an expert in Biblical Languages at the Univ. of Chicago in the early 20th century (1930-1950 - some where in there). His New Testament translation of Romans 3:4 is quite interesting. You get a very different impression of what that verse is saying compared to say the NIV. GSNT reads the same as KJV, though KJV is older English and harder to me to understand in this case. ESV agrees with GSNT. Others like GSNT inlcude ESV, KJV, GNB, BBE, YLT, RSV, NET, and NLT and GW and CEV read very must like GSNT. NIV is very much the opposite of GSNT. ASV and Darby are equivical. Take this verse in GSNT ( or similar ) and to me, it changes the meaning of Revelation 14:7. GNB does in Rev 14 does not match Romans 3, but NIV does, go figure. Most of the others match the direction of judgement. To me this has had profound meaning. This is the neat thing of e-Sword - you can compares so many versions in such a short time. But I digress...

Hello,
a little resume:
Download link for the bulk bible converter:
http://zefania.blogspot.com/2009/05/e-sword-bulk-bible-conversion-utilit...
Conversion speed:
The newest Build 3411 seems a little bit faster, but is not measured only felt :)
If tool not starts you need the .NET Framework v3.5
get it from here if necessary:

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
For some reason the out put files are not being created. I downloaded the *conversion2.zip file and installed it with the 64 bit .dll file. It creates a director called version8modules directory with the preconverted Bible but there is no output file(s).
Peace,
Gary

Hello Gary,
I don't know what is going on your system :)but you have send me a modul for testing and i could convert it without problems, i have send the converted modul back to you. Have you got it?

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
I received it and it worked fine. I thought that I would try *2.zip with the 64 bit driver. When I ran this combination a version8modules directory got created and the unconverted files where moved in to it. However, there was no converted files created. That the directory was created leads me to believe that the permissions on the directory are correct and the utility can write to it. For some reason under Vista 64 it won't create coverted output files. This is a mystery to me as well.

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
The version8modules directory is for collecting all processed files after conversion and only for avoiding mess, the converted *.bblx files itselfs should be found outside that folder. :-)
If there are no files i have no further idea :-(

I wanted to let you know that I put the utility on and a Vista 32 machine and it ran with no problems. I'm curious now. I'm going to upgrade a couple of laptops this weekend to the Windows 7 release candidate (both 64 and 32 bit), I'll let you know how well it runs or if I find any issues.

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
Hello Ruben,
as i have frequently stated only modules without password can be converted :)
The process in the utility is as followes:
It reads all supported module types in the seleced directory and then it tries to open each module if this is possible the modul will occur in the uttility's list.
If you have a modul without password and it won't occur in the utillity list send it to modules@zyanid.de i will look into it.

I am seeing this same behavior with the new release. I verified it buy placing some old .bbl files that the previous version was able to convert but the new release doesn't seem to recognize them.

Hello,
it would be nice to know the name of the not convertible (recognized) modules. If possible to download them somewhere i could test them or send it to me with pm.

wolgang.
NOTE 1: the tool looks not in subfolders of the selected folder :) So if the module is moved to version8modules after conversion it will not be found again if you try to start the utillity again on the selected folder.
NOTE 2: i have really not found yet a modul that wasn't convertible....

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
Hello,
for clarification old version 8 modules from e-Sword.net are not convertible, because they were password proteced.
you will find those moduls in version 9 here for easeliy download:
http://e-sword.net/bibles.html
http://e-sword.net/commentaries.html
http://e-sword.net/dictionaries.html
The E-Sword Bulk Modul Conversion Utilitiy is *only* for selfmade version 8 user modules without passwords.

Hi Wolfgang:
I have DL this version and am trying to get it to work in either bulk or single file at a time mode but it just seems to hang.
In single file mode it asks for a password...What is the password?
Thanks for your help.

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
The converter is OK, but check or prepare the files to convert. First - check the properties of file (right button on mouse), the "only to read"- remove marking if it is on it. Can you edit old files? It is possible by MSAcces. So there in the "Details" you must have (.bbl): "Description, Abbreviation, Comments, Font, Apocrypha, Strongs". If there is a lack one of them, you must create it [Font: usually-default, Apocrypha and Strongs: yes/no]. Then I always have converting successfully.
About password - some files are protected. If you don't know it you can't convert.

Re: E-Sword Bulk Bible Conversion Utilitiy available
Craig,
Some of the modules are password protected. If you don't know it you can not convert the modules please let me know how we can help you.
I am running Vista 64 Home Premium. When I execute the program I get the attached error when it starts the conversion process. I have .NET Framework 3.5 sp1 installed. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I have quite a few interlinear Bibles that I would like to be able to access once again.
